The Block 2026: Lisa & Rosco

WEEK 2: FAMILY BATHROOM

Lisa and Rosco faced a difficult Family Bathroom Week after discovering their newly laid tiles had been installed incorrectly, forcing them to rip them up and leaving the room unfinished for judging. Despite the setback, the judges praised the bathroom's functional layout, particularly the separate powder room, and loved several of the couple's design choices, including the vanity and overall styling direction. While reveal day was disappointing, the judges agreed the pair made the right call in fixing the tiling issue and believed the bathroom has the potential to be a standout space once completed

WEEK 4: MASTER ENSUITE

Lisa and Rosco's Main Ensuite showcased plenty of strong design elements, with the judges praising the stylish entry door, timber vanity, generous storage and the overall material palette. The couple came close to completing the room and were commended for their efforts, but the judges felt some key design decisions let the space down. In particular, the use of crazy paving and the abundance of competing finishes created a look they described as busy and overcomplicated, with styling also criticised for feeling cluttered. While the shower area received positive feedback for its simpler and more cohesive design, the judges ultimately felt the ensuite would have benefited from a more restrained approach to let its strongest features shine.

WEEK 5: ALFRESCO

Lisa and Rosco's Living, Dining and Alfresco reveal showcased a warm and inviting aesthetic, with the judges praising the soft colour palette, beautiful wall colours, flooring selections and the fireplace, which provided a strong focal point within the living space. However, concerns were raised about the furniture layout, with the judges feeling the dining setting was undersized and the room orientation failed to take full advantage of the home's spectacular outlook. They also questioned the positioning of the seating, believing it limited the functionality of the space for family living. Extending the entertaining area outdoors, the alfresco featured Pompeii Travertine Crema Structured 20mm Pavers, bringing a timeless natural stone look and helping create a seamless connection between the indoor living zones and outdoor entertaining spaces. While the judges loved many of the styling choices, they felt the floorplan and furniture arrangement missed an opportunity to fully capitalise on the home's coastal views and generous proportions.

WEEK 6: GUEST SUITE

Lisa and Rosco's Guest Suite received mixed feedback from the judges, who felt the bedroom lacked innovation and valuable storage, with the built-in study nook and overall styling failing to make a strong impression. While the bedroom was described as functional but predictable, the ensuite was a standout success and earned widespread praise for its craftsmanship, material selections and cohesive design. Beaumont Tiles products featured throughout the bathroom, including Navona Travertine Ivory Matt Tile on the floor and shower walls, creating a warm and timeless foundation, while Lithic Kit Kat Almond Matt Mosaic Tile was used on the vanity splashback to add texture and visual interest. The judges particularly admired the harmony between the tile selections, joinery, lighting and storage solutions, with Marty even awarding the bathroom a perfect score and describing it as one of the best spaces of the day.
