The Block 2026: Courtney & Sev

WEEK 2: FAMILY BATHROOM

Courtney and Sev went all out during Family Bathroom Week, creating a luxurious and highly detailed space that wowed the judges from the moment they walked in. Standout features included the award-winning oyster rainbow wall tiles, a stunning Velux skylight and an abundance of clever storage solutions, all of which received high praise. The judges also applauded the duo's smart powder room layout change and overall execution, despite a few unfinished details such as shaving cabinet installations and power points. However, the impressive result came at a significant cost, with the pair overspending their budget by more than $53,000 to bring their vision to life.

WEEK 4: MAIN ENSUITE

Courtney and Sev delivered a sophisticated Main Ensuite that impressed the judges with its elegant styling, luxurious finishes and strong material selections. The combination of tactile textures, carefully paired floor tiles and benchtop finishes, and abundant storage created a space that felt perfectly suited to the market, with judges praising the high-end details throughout. However, concerns were raised about the couple's spending, particularly their use of expensive plaster finishes, and the shower's controversial built-in tiled seat proved divisive. The judges felt the unusual feature detracted from an otherwise exceptional room, agreeing the ensuite could have been close to perfect if not for the impractical shower design.

WEEK 5: ALFRESCO

Courtney and Sev delivered a stylish Living, Dining and Alfresco space that impressed the judges with its strong furniture selections, thoughtful styling and well-positioned dining area, which Marty described as one of the best of the day. The judges loved the artwork, furnishings and overall aesthetic, praising the pair's ability to create a polished and sophisticated look despite working within a tight budget. However, concerns were raised about the living room layout, particularly its focus on the television rather than the home's stunning water views, with the judges feeling the floorplan missed an opportunity to fully capitalise on the property's location. Adding texture and warmth throughout the space, the living room featured Beaumont Tiles' Corsica Horizon Matt Tile on the custom seating and TV unit, while the alfresco showcased Pompeii Travertine Crema Structured 20mm Pavers, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor connection and enhancing the home's relaxed coastal appeal. Overall, the judges felt the styling was exceptional, but the layout prevented the space from reaching its full potential.

WEEK 7: KITCHEN PANTRY & POWDER ROOM

The kitchen was praised for its oversized island, elegant curves, custom lighting, extensive hidden storage and premium appliances, with the judges agreeing it offered everything a buyer could want. The butler’s pantry also received strong praise for its layout and practicality, while minor critiques focused on unnecessary doors and additional sink placements rather than the overall design. Extending the home's sophisticated aesthetic into the powder room, Beaumont Tiles' Oyster Taj Mahal White Hilite Matt Tile was used on the floor, bringing a refined stone-look finish that complemented the home's high-end palette and cohesive design direction. Overall, the judges felt the spaces showcased the pair's strong design instincts and ability to create luxurious, buyer-focused interiors.
