WEEK 2: FAMILY BATHROOM

Ooof, this is different," Marty says as he steps into House 4’s bathroom — and thankfully, it’s good different. The judges are immediately taken by the warmth of the aesthetic, with Darren even admitting he’s “besotted.” They applaud Sonny and Alicia’s bold move to ditch the shower screen, noting the space functions well without it and feels perfectly suited to Daylesford. But it’s Week 1, and no room escapes unscathed. Like the others, they’ve placed their vanity too high, leaving Shaynna baffled by this recurring misstep. She also calls out the vertical towel rails once again, along with uneven tile cuts that disrupt the visual flow. Marty points out that those fine details are what separate a great bathroom from a perfect 10. Still, the judges see real potential. “I feel really strong about this couple in their execution and their planning,” Shaynna says. “They could blow it out of the park.

WEEK 4: MAIN ENSUITE

Chantel and Wyatt embraced the Main Ensuite week's quiet luxury brief, delivering a bright, elegant space that impressed the judges with its flawless execution, spacious layout and attention to detail. The shower was a standout feature, while the soft champagne tapware, curved glass elements and carefully considered styling helped create a calm, sophisticated feel that Darren described as very fitting for Mount Eliza. The judges particularly loved the room's overall layout and finish quality, although they noted the lack of mirrored cabinet storage and questioned whether every buyer would want a bath in the ensuite. Overall, the space was praised as a polished and well-executed bathroom that showcased the couple's growing confidence in their design direction.

WEEK 5: ALFRESCO

Chantel and Wyatt's Living, Dining and Alfresco reveal received some of the toughest feedback of the week, with the judges feeling the layout failed to make the most of the home's size and spectacular views. While the pair stayed close to budget, the judges criticised the amount of unused floor space, the scale and proportion of the furniture, and the decision to position seating away from the outlook. Styling choices also came under scrutiny, with the overall space described as lacking personality and impact for a home of this calibre. Extending the living area outdoors, the alfresco featured Pompeii Travertine Crema Structured 20mm Pavers, adding a timeless natural stone look and helping create a seamless connection between the indoor and outdoor entertaining zones. Despite the harsh critique, the judges agreed the home's incredible location and views remained its greatest asset, believing a stronger layout could have significantly elevated the overall result.

WEEK 6: GUEST SUITE

Chantel and Wyatt's Guest Suite impressed the judges with its calming atmosphere, luxurious proportions and layered neutral palette, with the king-sized bed, generous wardrobe storage and thoughtful blend of traditional and contemporary styling all receiving praise. The judges particularly appreciated the warmth and texture throughout the bedroom, describing it as a space that felt comfortable and inviting. While some functional details, such as the placement of the bedside lighting, were questioned, the overall bedroom was well received. In the ensuite, Beaumont Tiles' Crossland Pearl Textured Tile was used from floor to ceiling, creating a seamless and cohesive finish that reinforced the suite's soft, understated aesthetic. Although the bathroom was seen as less impactful than the bedroom, the consistent tile application contributed to the refined and tranquil feel that carried throughout the space.

WEEK 7: KITCHEN, PANTRY & POWDER ROOM

Chantel and Wyatt delivered a polished Kitchen, Butler’s Pantry and Powder Room that impressed the judges with its symmetrical layout, strong visual appeal and practical storage solutions. The kitchen earned praise for its striking stone selection, illuminated splashback and well-chosen appliances, while the butler’s pantry was applauded for its layout, shelving and curved benchtop. However, the judges questioned some functional decisions, including the placement of the sinks, and felt the overall design lacked some personality despite its broad market appeal. An unfinished powder room also attracted criticism, with several detailing elements not completed in time for judging. Bringing texture and continuity to the space, Beaumont Tiles’ Crossland Pearl Textured Tile was used on the powder room floor, adding a refined and timeless foundation that complemented the home’s soft, neutral palette.
