WEEK 2: FAMILY BATHROOM

Ooof, this is different," Marty says as he steps into House 4’s bathroom — and thankfully, it’s good different. The judges are immediately taken by the warmth of the aesthetic, with Darren even admitting he’s “besotted.” They applaud Sonny and Alicia’s bold move to ditch the shower screen, noting the space functions well without it and feels perfectly suited to Daylesford. But it’s Week 1, and no room escapes unscathed. Like the others, they’ve placed their vanity too high, leaving Shaynna baffled by this recurring misstep. She also calls out the vertical towel rails once again, along with uneven tile cuts that disrupt the visual flow. Marty points out that those fine details are what separate a great bathroom from a perfect 10. Still, the judges see real potential. “I feel really strong about this couple in their execution and their planning,” Shaynna says. “They could blow it out of the park.

WEEK 4: MAIN ENSUITE

Adam and Jolene delivered a Main Ensuite that the judges felt had the potential to be one of their best rooms yet, despite being unfinished at reveal. The judges praised the clever layout, particularly the striking view of the bath framed by the shower, which created a memorable first impression and strong buyer appeal. Feature tiles, green tile accents, a unique vanity and the spacious shower were all standout elements, with the overall design receiving positive feedback for its style and functionality. While unfinished painting, tiling and lighting installations prevented the room from reaching its full potential, the judges agreed the space showcased excellent design choices and a highly effective layout.

The standout feature was a custom Christian Cole dining table, which immediately captured the judges' attention and became a defining element of the space, complemented by an elegant colour palette, carefully considered styling and a refined, elevated feel throughout. Extending the living zone outdoors, the alfresco featured Basilica Chalk Structured Textured 20mm Paver, adding a timeless stone-look finish and creating a seamless transition between the indoor and outdoor entertaining areas.
